Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 2025

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Schola (the "Service"), including our website, platform and any related features.

By accessing or using Schola, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

1. Eligibility & Accounts

  • You must be authorised by a parent, guardian, or school to use Schola if you are under the age required by your local laws.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and for all activity under your account.
  • You must provide accurate, up-to-date information when creating and using your account.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree that you will not:

  • Use Schola for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
  • Harass, bully, or abuse other users, or post content that is offensive, hateful, or inappropriate.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the security or operation of the Service.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise access the source code of the Service.

3. Tasks, Jobs & Payments

Schola connects parents, schools or organisations with students who can complete tasks. Unless otherwise stated:

  • Any agreement for a task is made directly between the posting party and the student.
  • You are responsible for ensuring tasks are safe, appropriate and comply with local laws and school policies.
  • Fees, commissions, or payment processing arrangements (if applicable) will be described separately within the platform.

4. User Content

You are responsible for any content you submit or share through Schola, including task descriptions, messages and profile information.

  • You must ensure your content does not infringe any third-party rights (for example, privacy, copyright, or trademarks).
  • By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, display and process that content for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.

5. Intellectual Property

Schola, including its name, logo, design, and underlying software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service except as expressly allowed by these Terms.

6. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Schola at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or pose a risk to other users or the Service.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately stop, but certain provisions of these Terms will continue to apply, including those related to intellectual property and limitation of liability.

7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from security issues.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or in connection with your use of Schola.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your jurisdiction (for example, the laws of Western Australia, if Schola is based there), without regard to conflict of law principles.
